आज हम भारत की यात्रा कर रहे हैं।
Are you able to understand this? Can you guess what country our campers are visiting? No?!
Don't panic. I'm here to help you. Today we are in India. What do you know about this country?
Well the children learnt a lot in the presentation, such as;
- India is about 1/3 the size of the United States, yet it is the second most populous country in the world, with a population of 1,166,079,217. India is the seventh largest country in the world, at 1.27 million square miles.
- India is the largest democracy in the world.
- It is illegal for foreigners and non-citizens to take Indian currency (rupees) out of India.
- Cows can be found freely wandering the streets of India’s cities. They are considered sacred and will often wear a tilak, which is a Hindu symbol of good fortune. Cows are considered one of humankind’s seven mothers because they offer milk as does one’s natural mother
- The Indian flag has three horizontal bands of color: saffron for courage and sacrifice, white for truth and peace, and green for faith, fertility, and chivalry. An emblem of a spinning wheel used to be in the center of the white band, but when India became independent from the British empire, a Buddhist dharma chakra, or wheel of life, replaced the spinning wheel.
Our instructors (Irina, Joshua & Lili) delivered a workshop on Bollywood Dance, teaching our campers a few moves (with the help of a video tutorial!)
After their English class, our campers took part in a popular handcraft activity, t-shirt tie-dying.
By the way, our menu for lunch was 'Arroz a la cubana' Mmmm... Yummy, yummy!!!
Right now our campers are enjoying their free time before heading off to English class again later.

ResponderEliminarHola chicos! Laura, veo que cada día que pasa es más divertido, si es posible, que el anterior. Estamos deseando hablar contigo mañana para que nos lo cuentes. Los abuelos están en Asturias. ¡Por fin llega el calor del verano este fin de semana y al menos hasta el martes! Protejeros todos bien del sol y... ¡a disfrutar de la piscina!. Agradeceros a los monitores, cocineros y a todos los que hacéis que nuestros hijos disfruten tanto de estos días. Al menos a Angel, que lo conozco por sor Conchi, y a mi hija Laura los tenéis fijos desde hace 4 años y seguro que a otros cuantos. Gracias. Te quiero Laura.
ResponderEliminarHolaaaaaa!!!!! Que buena pinta tiene ese campamento. Pero lo que más nos gusta ese ese pedazo de monitor de baile, que estilo, que coreografía, que arte más grande. Nos vamos a preguntaros cómo estáis porqué es evidente que estáis mejor que bien.
