Summer Camp 2016 - Friday 8th July

Good afternoon dear parents. How have you been?

Before start to say what country we're visiting. I'd like to say that the photos about castles are already uploaded. Yesterday, our campers learnt a lot about castles and they had an excellent day. They had two tours, the first one was in Castle of Coca and that tour was in Spanish and the second one was in English.

Today our campers are learning more about Romania. Have you known...
  • The most famous novels, inspired by Romania, are “The Castle in the Carpathians” by Jules Verne, and “Dracula” by Bram Stoker

  • The name "Romania" comes from the Latin word "Romanus" which means "citizen of the Roman Empire."

  • The meaning of the word "Transylvania" is the land beyond the forest.
  •
  • With an area of 92,043 square miles (238,391 square kilometer), Romania is the largest country in Southeastern Europe. It is roughly the same size as the United Kingdom and slightly smaller than the U.S. state of Oregon.
  •
  • On March 1 Romanians celebrate the beginning of spring in their own, unique way. To show their friendship, respect or admiration, men and boys offer to their (female) family members, friends and colleagues a "Martisor" (small trinket attached to a red/ white lace - red for love and white for honesty). The tradition is said to have originated in Roman times.

After that, they went to horses again!!

On the other hand, today is also Maria's birthday :-)

Al agua pato....

What about our evening event??? They're having an amazing night!!
