Summer Camp 2016 - Saturday 2nd July

Good morning there,

This morning our campers woke up with the rhythm of the song ‘Walk like an Egyptian’ by The Bangles. Do you remember it?

Can you guess what country our campers are visiting?

That’s right! They are in the Ancient Egypt. They started with a presentation where our instructor (monitora) Irina taught them some interesting facts such as:

  • ·      The famous Great Pyramid at Giza was built as a burial place for King Khufu (2589 – 2566 B.C) and took more than 20 years to build.
  • ·      For ancient Egyptians, bread was the most important food and beer was their favourite drink.
  • ·      In the ancient Egypt there were gods, for example Amum-Ra, Seth, Geb, etc. Besides, there were pharaohs, for example Cleopatra, Tutankhamun, Ramses II.

Now our campers are playing an interesting treasure hunt (gymkana). And to do that treasure hunt, they need to know how to translate their hieroglyph. And then they’re going to the swimming pool.

Meanwhile, our cooks are cooking meat with potatoes and fish with salad for our lunch. See you later!!!
